Trip to Gillygooley!
Primary 4, 5 and 6 enjoyed their second visit to their friends at Gillygooley today.
Last week Children had to carry out forensic investigations to solve a number of mysteries. These investigations required looking at fingerprints and chromatography to solve detective cases. The children enjoyed these exciting tasks and then delighted in exploring a new playground, football pitch and equipment to play on.
This week children studied the anatomy of a flower and became familiar with lots of new scientific vocabulary. Children used their creative talents to construct models of a flower with petals, sepals, stigma and stamens. We then went on to look at the importance of camouflage as a defence mechanism for wild animals. Children had fun designing butterflies that they disguised throughout the classroom. Can you spot them?
