Power Shut Down Day
This week our eco-committee have been trying to make the school aware of how we can save energy in the school. The eco-committee have been recording utility meter readings each morning and evening to see how many units of electricity we are using in a school day. Today, we had a "Power Shut Down" day in which the halls, classrooms and canteen worked with computers, lights and plugs switched off. The pupils used the natural light for their school day. This was a great success and the eco-committee reading found we used just 3 units of energy today, compared with 8 units recorded Monday to Thursday. This has made the school community more aware of switching off lights and computers when not in use and how they can be more aware of the energy they are using. Great work by the eco-committee!
