Poetry in Motion Project
The Poetry in Motion Project is an innovative literacy project for children across a breadth of ages and experiences in Northern Ireland. It is an opportunity for young people to develop their, “inner poetic voice,” through fun active workshops with a published poet.
P.5 class from Recarson were delighted and grateful to have been chosen to join in the Project. Using their chosen theme of the Celts and looking at artefacts they have compiled a beautiful range of choral and individual poems. Ably assisted by the skills of their writer facilitator, the P.5 children in Recarson have transformed their everyday language into poetic form.
Recording has taken place and P.5. are eagerly awaiting the gala launch celebrating poetry for young people across Northern Ireland in The Ulster Hall in March 2017.The Children’s poetry will be displayed in Omagh library from early February 2017.
