The P1/2 children went on an Autumn walk today. The children noticed the various colours of leaves on the trees and the number of leaves that had already fallen off the trees. They also saw a variety of trees such as oak, chestnut and sycamore. The children listened and remarked on how silent it was outside. Some children were able to tell us that birds had migrated for the Winter. They observed the red berries on the hawthorn tree and smelt the honeysuckle. We discussed how important berries will be for the birds as Winter draws near. The children enjoyed the opportunity to see signs of Autumn outside.
