Eco-Council Autumn Workshop
Our Eco Council attended an Autumn workshop in school today. The workshop was delivered by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council Biodiversity Officer, Julie Corey. The pupils listened to an informative talk on the changes Autumn brings and what causes our seasons. They learned about the different types of birds that migrate in Autumn and the animals that hibernate! The pupils enjoyed a walk around the school grounds, examining the trees, bushes and wildlife and learning their names. The pupils also began to make "bug bottles" which we will fill with leaves and twigs and put beside our bug hotel. The bottles will be perfect for attracting insects and wildlife to our school! We can't wait to further develop the biodiversity in our school grounds and our Eco-Council gained knowledge on how to do this. Thanks also to Julie, for the bags and colouring pencils she gifted the pupils!
