School Routines
Morning Routine
The school is open to pupils from 8:30am if pupils are attending the Breakfast Club. All other pupils are welcome to come into school after 8.45am.
Staff supervise the morning period of outdoor play (weather permitting). All pupils are encouraged to engage in this period of activity before school starts as it is seen as an ideal way for children to start the day, getting energised and ready to start their learning as soon as they enter school.
A 'getting ready' bell rings at 9.05am with lessons beginning at 9.10am.
Morning Break 10.45-11.00am
As part of our Healthy eating policy, children are encouraged to develop ‘healthy habits‘ from an early age and so we only permit Healthy snacks at break time. This will not only encourage our pupils to eat healthily but also develop long term habits for a lifelong healthy life style. Some examples of super snacks include:
Water; Fruit: apple, orange, banana; Yogurt drinks; Cheese and crackers; Vegetables: Carrot sticks, cucumber strips, or bread based products with no jam.
Pupils may also avail of the Breaktime Snack Club offered by our School Meals Staff.
Lunch/Dinner Break
P1, P2 and P3: 12.25-12.50pm
P4, P5, P6, P7: 12.50pm–1.15pm
Healthy, tasty hot dinners are served daily in the Canteen. Parents receive a monthly copy of the menu served. Special menu days run throughout the school year. School dinners cost £2.60per day. Children availing of dinner must pay in advance preferably at the beginning of the week. All pupils are asked to bring their money in a clearly marked envelope. Pupils may also take a packed lunch.
End of School Day
2.00pm for P1 and P2
(An After School Club is available for parents of P1 and P2 pupils who wish to make one collection at 3.00pm).
3.00pm for P3-P7

Visitors To The School
All visitors to the school - including parents - must report to the School Office in the first instance. The Secretary will pass on any messages or items as necessary. If you require your child to leave school early or if they have taken ill at school you will be requested to complete the 'Signing out Register' before leaving the school premises. Your co-operation with this important matter is much appreciated by all staff.
Attendance and Absence
If your child is absent from school you will be requested to explain the absence by note upon their return to school.
School attendance is monitored regularly and parents may be requested to provide medical evidence if their child is absent for a prolonged period or is absent from school for one or two days on a regular basis. It is always in the school's best interest to work with parents to ensure that children maximise their potential by having a good school attendance record.
