Pastoral Care
The atmosphere within St. Ronan’s Recarson PS is one that encourages ALL children to do their best. We strive to ensure that each individual achieves his/her potential academically, socially, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
Our Pastoral Care permeates all aspects of school life and is based upon the strong Catholic Ethos which prevails. We recognise, too, that good relationships between all members of the school community are vital in fostering a caring, successful school.
In St. Ronan’s Recarson PS, every effort is made for pupils to:
- set and achieve personal, social and academic goals;
- foster relationships where they feel happy and secure so helping gain maximum benefit from time in school;
- develop self-esteem, self-discipline, self-respect and independence;
- develop responsibility for actions and respect and tolerance for others;
- develop an understanding of themselves as individuals, recognising their own interests, strengths and talents.
The behaviour of our pupils is excellent - a perfect environment in which to learn. Reflecting the ethos of our school, we place emphasis on positive behaviour and so help children to develop:
- responsibility and self-discipline through our positive behaviour and discipline policy;
- respect for themselves, others and the property of others;
- a strong work ethic and ability to co-operate with others;
- a caring, polite and friendly approach to others.
St. Ronan’s Recarson PS is a safe, caring and supportive environment in which all children can flourish.
